The Irreplaceable Book Launch, Part 4

Hey Friends,

Well, you never know what you are going to wake up to… My son, Tim (above with his son Caedmon), who is doing the final type-setting for the book had a business trip to Phoenix this week and came back to a sick family. Although fevers and symptoms have started to resolve, it has delayed the book’s release.

In the meantime, I have three fun things to share as we continue the drum-roll:

  1. Several of you responded to last week’s blog with some great song suggestions. Thank you! And I actually will be adding these two to the official playlist:
    • The Two Lost Sons (Luke 15) by Caroline Cobb—you will have to look this up on your favorite music source. I had not heard it before (thanks, Alex Hettinga!) but is very much related to a favorite book by Tim Keller called The Prodigal God. And the song reflects Keller’s take on the story of “The Prodigal Son,” a parable I unpack a bit in one of the chapters of Irreplaceable:Recovering God’s Heart for Dads.
    • Goodspeed (Sweet Dreams) by The Chicks—My cousin Tom Loper informed me that it’s “a lullaby by a father to his son after a divorce, when the mother remarried and moved to France. Very hard to listen to while driving.”
  2. Two more endorsements came in:
    • “This is a generational anthem for all men with children that proclaims the unique and special purpose that God has for them as fathers. In Irreplaceable, Greg leads you from a biblical perspective both vulnerably and courageously to God’s freedom and truth!” -Amy Ford, President of Embrace Grace, Author of Help Her Be Brave: Discover Your Place in the Pro-Life Movement
    • “This book needs to move to the top of your ‘books to read’ list. Greg digs deep into the core of God’s love for fathers and family and then explores how to apply that amidst a society that, at times, seems opposed to those ideals. What’s more, it’s balanced with incredible transparency about his personal experiences with his own father, as well as his own journey as a dad. Make no mistake—after reading it, you will walk away inspired.” -Rob Denler, Men’s Services Director, Life Network in Colorado Springs, CO
  3. And here is the book cover!

Please continue to pray for Tim’s family’s full recovery, and Godspeed on the final details of the book.

Thanks!

Greg
